Fetal liver is believed to be the first organ in human development that generates enucleated red blood cells. Fetal liver macrophages are believed to be responsible for recycling expelled RBC nuclei. Fetal liver RNA and cDNA can provide insight into such mechanisms.
Fetal Liver is obtained from fetal tissue at a gestation of 10-22 weeks. All consents and protocols have been approved by an independent biomedical review board.
